Page 1 of 2 Cypress House Garden is the product of two people's vision and a lot of hard work. It is a 3/4 of an acre garden in West Lancashire that has been created from an overgrown wilderness when they bought it in 1987. Over many years David and Coleta, have section by section and plant by plant, created a superb garden that is as much at home on a magazine front cover as it is hosting afternoon tea. The garden is exposed overlooking the West Lancashire plain. It comprises mixed informal plantings of shrubs, trees, conifers, acers, hostas, heucheras and herbacious and includes many rare and unusual plants. The aim of the garden is to provide year round interest, form and colour. The plantings will be of particular interest to acer and conifer enthusiasts. There is a large rockery, water features and newly established alpine and vine house. On the westerly edge of the plot is a young arboretum with rare and unusual trees. The garden has been one of the highlights of the Dalton Gardens annual open day and since 2007 has been featured in the National Gardens Scheme yellow book of British gardens open to the public for charity. This website is currently being developed but gives you a small taste of what's in the garden, the history and information about visiting it. Enjoy your visit.
